Last night in chat it came up that not only am I am artist, a student, a therapist in training, among many other talents we have discussed over the years but also that I am a poet. Having heard this you asked me for a sample. Finding something that I could share with you was a bit of a difficult task for most of what I write is pretty dark. Some of you found this hard to believe because of my effervescent nature online. Sadly there are many dark corners within me due to a multitude of past and current traumas that reside within, the management of which is an ongoing task. Despite all of that I am grateful for my ability to vibrantly shine light through the center of my being. This ability to shine through pain is granted by the creative experience and thus a huge reason why I am an advocate for art, for creativity and art as therapy. Through the creative experience I can be as dark as I need to be. The art is a safe place. Using art to heal that entire trauma prevents the blackness from heavily seeping into daily life and hence you have the shining Doll that greets you with smiles and giggles when she can steal some time away from her scholastic duties to grace the screen of your computer monitor. THE RESPONCE The tree bows under timeÂ?s mounting pressure, curving itself towards the sun. A world. A womb of white covered by flowers of all colours. The sun, free from the skyÂ?s complete embrace. Relief. Thank you for asking me to share. Sincerely, Miss Doll
